Chief of the Air Staff emphasizes commitment to protecting lives and property

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has reiterated the significant responsibility entrusted to members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria in safeguarding the lives and property of all Nigerians.

In a statement by Edward Gabkwet, Air Commodore and Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, Air Marshal Abubakar emphasized the high expectations placed on the Armed Forces by the Nigerian people to eliminate criminal elements and maintain security. He urged all personnel not to let Nigerians down.

The CAS held a meeting with key appointment holders, commanders, commandants, and air component commanders of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to discuss these matters.

During the meeting, he encouraged participants to utilize this time to devise strategies for enhancing NAF operations, improving logistics support systems, and maintenance practices. He stressed the importance of maintaining air assets for optimal utilization in joint operations.

Air Marshal Abubakar also revealed that the NAF has started receiving additional air assets procured by the Federal Government. Notably, it recently acquired the remaining two Diamond-62 Multi-Purpose Platform aircraft. He further disclosed that the NAF is preparing to induct more new platforms into its service, enhancing its operational capabilities in the fight against insurgents, terrorists, and criminal elements in the country.

Furthermore, Air Vice Marshal Sayo Olatunde, the Chief of Policy and Plans, reminded senior officers of their multifaceted roles as leaders, managers, and mentors in addition to their command responsibilities. He emphasized the importance of effectively using available resources, planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating forces for mission accomplishment. Additionally, he highlighted their responsibilities for the well-being, morale, and discipline of their personnel.
