Tinubu’s directives at FEC meeting, a call for order and support for Gbajabiamila

Shortly after the Supreme Court’s confirmation of Bola Tinubu as Nigeria’s President, he took charge at a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, setting the ground rules for the gatherings to come.

During the meeting held at the Council Chambers, President Tinubu sternly addressed the issue of unauthorized individuals gaining access to the State House Council Chambers.

Furthermore, President Tinubu expressed his unwavering confidence in his choice of Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajiabiamila, while warning against any campaigns of defamation directed towards him.

The President emphasized, “I have absolute confidence in the integrity of my Chief of Staff. All campaigns of calumny and insinuations should stop; the buck stops here.”

President Tinubu acknowledged the possibility of making mistakes but reiterated his commitment to fighting corruption and upholding the law. He urged unity in this endeavor.

During the meeting, the Council observed a minute of silence in honor of Alhaji Adamu Fika, a former FEC member and former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, who passed away at the age of 90.

As the meeting progressed, it entered into a closed-door session, attended by several high-ranking government officials, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, and the National Security Adviser, along with all ministers.
