Governor Adeleke introduced a N100 billion infrastructure development scheme for the state, which includes the construction of five flyovers, road repairs, the provision of clean drinking water, and the renovation of public primary and secondary schools and healthcare facilities.

In response, Prof. Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli, the Executive Director of TOM, issued a threat during a press conference to report Governor Adeleke to anti-graft agencies, expressing concerns about the potential for excessive borrowing and financial recklessness in the state.

The PDP dismissed TOM as a group aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and referred to them as mercenaries. They accused the group of ignoring the due process and procurement compliance that is already underway for the infrastructure plan.

The party emphasized that all required processes, including bid advertisements and a supplementary budget passed by the State Assembly, are being followed. Governor Adeleke also made it clear that the funding for the infrastructure plan is derived from savings, cost-cutting measures, and the state’s revenue expansion.

The PDP asserted that the threats from TOM are baseless, especially given that Governor Adeleke has been transparent about the funding, justification, and sustainability of the projects. The PDP remains focused on governing with due process and transparency, despite distractions from what they perceive as political opportunists posing as civil society activists.
