Abducted wives of Jigawa LG Chairman safely released

The two wives of the chairman of Kiyawa Local Government Council in Jigawa State, who were abducted by unknown gunmen, have been freed from captivity. This news was confirmed by DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the police spokesman, in a statement issued on Tuesday night.

The abduction occurred when a large group of gunmen raided their home and took the two women on a Friday night. The statement from the police indicated that the wives of the Kiyawa LG chairman were released by their abductors in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

While the statement acknowledged their safe return to their family, it did not provide specific details regarding whether the police carried out a rescue operation or if a ransom was paid to secure their release.

However, a family member of the abducted individuals has confirmed that a ransom was indeed paid to secure their freedom.
