Shehu Sani expresses support for NLC and TUC strike, labels it justifiable

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has voiced his support for the nationwide strike organized by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union of Nigeria (TUC) in response to the brutalization of NLC President Joe Ajaero. The incident occurred in Owerri, Imo State, last week and involved a physical assault by suspected political thugs.

Shehu Sani believes that the strike action is justifiable and sends a clear message to those responsible for the attack on Ajaero. He emphasized that no responsible trade union would stand idly by while its leaders are brutalized without a strong response. The strike serves as a message to those who resort to such tactics, and it underscores the unacceptability of using political thugs to disrupt protests and mistreat protesters. Shehu Sani pointed out a similar incident involving the EndSARS organizers who were attacked at the CBN Headquarters in Abuja.
