New Commissioner of Police, Isyaku Mohammed, assumes office in Osun State

In a recent development, the Osun State Police Command in Osogbo welcomes its new Commissioner of Police, Isyaku Mohammed. The information was shared by the Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, in a statement released on Friday.

According to the statement, CP Mohammed officially assumed office on Friday, November 10, 2023. His prior assignment was as the CP in charge of Police Account and Budget at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

The statement highlighted CP Mohammed’s extensive experience, noting that he was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force in August 1996 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (Cadet ASP). The Commissioner of Police holds advanced degrees, including an M.Sc in Business Administration, an M.Sc in Strategic Studies and Security Administration, and a B.Sc in Accounting. Additionally, he is a Fellow of the Certified National Accountant of Nigeria (FCNA).

CP Isyaku Mohammed has served in various capacities across different states in the country, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. He is recognized as a dedicated professional who excelled in critical departments of the Nigeria Police, such as Administration, Operations, and Investigations.

The statement concluded by noting that CP Isyaku Mohammed served last as the CP Police Account and Budget at the Force Headquarters in Abuja before being transferred to the Osun State Police Command. His deployment follows the recent retirement of the former Commissioner of Police, AIG Patrick Kehinde Longe.
