Nasarawa Governor calls for restraint ahead of Court of Appeal hearing

As the Court of Appeal hearing looms, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has urged his supporters and residents to maintain restraint, expressing concerns about heightened tension in the state.

During a security meeting at the Government House, Governor Sule, who recently appealed the gubernatorial election petition tribunal’s judgment, emphasized the need for maturity and tolerance among the people as legal proceedings unfold.

Addressing security challenges, particularly attacks on farmers in several local government areas, the governor pledged collaboration with traditional rulers to enhance grassroots security. He encouraged the re-engagement of local vigilante groups, citing past successes through such partnerships.

Governor Sule also highlighted the influx of unfamiliar individuals, especially in Keffi Local Government Area, and addressed concerns about criminal hideouts and suspected drug peddlers in various areas. The meeting aimed to foster cooperation between the government, traditional leaders, and security groups for effective solutions.

Commending the efforts of security agencies in maintaining peace and conducting successful rescue operations, the governor affirmed his commitment to collaborative security measures in the state.
