Harry Maguire issues warning about his Manchester United future

Manchester United’s defender, Harry Maguire, has issued a warning, suggesting he may consider leaving the Premier League club in January if he continues to have a limited role under manager Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag made the decision to replace Maguire as the team’s captain before the start of the new season. The England international only received his first league start against Brentford due to several other defenders being sidelined. Maguire made a significant impact by providing an assist for Scott McTominay’s winning goal in a 2-1 victory last Saturday.

Nevertheless, as players like Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez return to full fitness, the 30-year-old may find himself back on the bench.

“I can’t be content with playing only once a month. If this continues, I’m confident that both myself and the club will sit down to discuss the situation. Whether I start the next game for United is not my decision. I will find out in a couple of weeks,” Maguire stated. He made these comments in advance of England’s upcoming matches against Australia and Italy.
