Germany recently granted Israel approval to utilize two Heron TP combat drones in its operations against the Gaza Strip. These drones are currently leased by Germany from the Israeli arms manufacturer, with five of them in their possession.

Two of these drones are stationed in Israel, where German soldiers are trained to operate them. According to reports, Israel has temporarily suspended the training of German pilots while these drones are being redeployed.

Speaking during a NATO defense ministers meeting, Pistorius stated that Germany is ready to provide assistance to Israel, including the delivery of humanitarian aid if requested. Israeli officials had previously mentioned that they sought political support rather than military or technical assistance.
