Barcelona Vice-President gives conditions for potential Messi return

Eduard Romeu, the vice-president of Barcelona, has outlined the conditions under which Lionel Messi could return to the club. Since Messi left Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in 2021, there have been persistent rumors about his possible return.

This summer, Messi made a surprising move to Inter Miami instead of returning to the Nou Camp. As the MLS season is set to conclude at the end of the year, the idea of Messi returning to Barcelona on loan has resurfaced.

However, the financial challenges Barcelona continues to face have made this move appear impossible. Nevertheless, Romeu remains confident that a tribute for Messi in front of the Barcelona fans will take place once Camp Nou is open again.

“The only thing I would like, and the day and time will surely come, when the circumstances are favorable, is that we can pay him a great tribute,” Romeu told L’Esportiu.

“He deserves it, and we’re really looking forward to it. The rest is a matter of speculation; we don’t even talk about this subject, because we have already talked about it too many times.”
