Tinubu unveils Nigeria’s financial triumph, N8.65 trillion revenue in three quarters of 2023

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu made a significant revelation on Wednesday during his 2024 budget presentation to the National Assembly, stating that Nigeria successfully generated N8.65 trillion in revenue from January to September, covering the first three quarters of 2023.

Addressing the budget performance for 2023, President Tinubu expressed satisfaction with the country’s achievement, noting that it reached 96 percent of its revenue target during the specified period. Despite facing challenges, he emphasized the government’s commitment to meeting its financial obligations.

Looking ahead, President Tinubu outlined ambitious goals for 2024, with the country aiming to achieve a revenue target of N18.32 trillion. This target surpasses the N11.045 trillion revenue forecast for the current year, showcasing a robust economic outlook.

“As of September 30, the Federal Government’s actual aggregate revenue inflow was N8.65 trillion, approximately 96 per cent of the targeted N8.28 trillion. Despite the challenges, we continue to meet our obligations,” President Tinubu stated.

With the unveiling of the N27.5 trillion 2024 annual budget, Nigeria seems poised for continued financial growth, reflecting the resilience and determination to navigate economic complexities successfully.
