In the suit No/BA/07/992/2023, the plaintiffs, APC Concerned Citizens, allege that Misau violated party regulations and worked against the party’s success in the recent state governorship election. Counsel to the plaintiffs, Isa Mohammed, filed a motion asserting that Misau’s actions contravened party laws and contributed to the party’s failure in the 2023 governorship election.

Isa emphasized that granting the application would serve the interests of justice, preventing potential chaos among aggrieved members. He requested the court to restrain Babayo Misau from assuming the role of the party chairman until the substantive suit is determined.

In response, Justice Lamido Kabir Umar, presiding over the court, granted the order restraining Babayo Misau from presenting himself as the State chairman. The court directed the parties to expedite their case within 14 days and set the return date for the motion on notice hearing on December 11, 2023.

It is noteworthy that Babayo Misau had faced expulsion from the party in April, accused of engaging in anti-party activities that undermined the party’s success in the general elections. The ongoing legal action further highlights the internal conflicts within the APC in Bauchi State.
