Moelogo opens up on overcoming false accusations and suicidal thoughts

In a candid revelation, British-Nigerian singer Moelogo has shared a harrowing experience that pushed him to the brink of contemplating suicide. Previously, he held the belief that individuals who succumbed to such thoughts were weak, but his own ordeal shattered that perception.

During a recent interview with Cool FM, Lagos, Moelogo recounted how false accusations in the UK almost led him to take his own life. He expressed gratitude for having friends around who prevented him from succumbing to despair.

Moelogo admitted, “I used to think people who commit suicide were weak until it happened to me. Then I realized that it’s not about you being strong; it can happen to anybody. That was the first time I ever felt like, ‘What’s the point? Let me just go.’”

Reflecting on the pivotal role of supportive friends during that challenging period, Moelogo revealed, “I’m just grateful that I had at least two people around me that time that actually showed me that ‘Guy, you’re here for a reason. Don’t worry, this will pass.’”

The singer expressed his thankfulness for possessing evidence that refuted the false accusations, citing audio recordings from a family member of those plotting against him. These recordings not only provided clarity but also saved him from legal repercussions.

Moelogo disclosed that the individuals involved, friends he had known for over a decade, attempted to blackmail him under the assumption of his wealth. The incident left him emotionally shaken, almost dissuading him from extending help to others.

This revelation sheds light on the artist’s resilience and triumph over adversity, emphasizing the importance of a support system in navigating life’s darkest moments.
