Inter Miami forward, Lionel Messi, has shared insights into his move to Major League Soccer (MLS), acknowledging that the MLS presents a different challenge compared to other top leagues. In an interview with StarPlus, Messi openly discussed the perceived differences in competitiveness and the potential impact of the MLS schedule on his playing level.

Messi, at 36, emphasized that his decision to join Inter Miami was influenced by what he felt was best for both himself and his family. While acknowledging the MLS as a “lesser” league in comparison, Messi highlighted the personal aspect and individual approach to facing new challenges and competition.

Expressing his commitment to compete at the highest level, Messi stated, “I will always try to compete to the maximum, and I am the first to know when I can be there and when I can’t.” Despite recognizing the differences in leagues, Messi affirmed his readiness to contribute to Inter Miami and face the challenges presented by the MLS.

Since his arrival in America, Messi has already achieved success, winning the inaugural Leagues Cup and claiming the Golden Boot of the tournament. The Argentina captain, who joined Inter Miami as a free agent from Paris Saint-Germain, turned down a return to Barcelona and offers to play in Saudi Arabia.
