Cundy believes that Phillips has the potential to secure a place in Liverpool’s starting lineup, particularly ahead of Alexis Mac Allister, who recently transferred from Brighton to the Reds.
“Considering Mac Allister’s recent performances, he hasn’t been exceptional. Kalvin Phillips could be a valuable addition to Liverpool’s squad.”
Cundy expressed his views during a talkSPORT discussion, as quoted by HITC.

Since his £45 million transfer from Leeds United to Manchester City last year, Phillips has appeared in only 26 games across various competitions. Out of those appearances, he has started just five times, with three of those starts occurring in domestic cup competitions. His other two league starts came after Manchester City had already secured the previous season’s Premier League title.
