Lawyer raises concerns over unauthorized signatures on Akeredolu’s behalf

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Kayode Ajulo, has sounded an alarm, asserting that certain officials within the Ondo State government are allegedly signing documents on behalf of the ailing state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu. Ajulo made these startling claims during an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show program on Monday.

In addition to this revelation, Ajulo pointed out that the deputy governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, cannot assume the governorship because there hasn’t been a constitutional transfer of power.

The lawyer expressed concern over the potential exploitation of this situation by influential individuals, creating an opportunity for shadowy figures to take control of governance in the state.

Ajulo stated, “I have it on good authority as a lawyer. Some of the commissioners, about five of them, sent memos to the governor, and they all returned with approval. Going through the approval compared to what the governor had approved when he was hail and hearty, there are notable disparities in them.”

Citing legal frameworks, Ajulo highlighted the Police and Administration of Justice Act, which allows for private investigators to be engaged in such matters. He suggested that the gravity of the situation merits an inquiry, even proposing the involvement of the EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) to investigate and seek answers in Ondo State.

According to Ajulo, the alleged signatures on official documents do not match the governor’s authentic signature, and he emphasized the need for a thorough examination of the discrepancies.
