Police in Rivers arrest 13 officers for violating dress code

In a recent development, the Rivers State Police Command has taken action against 13 of its officers for indecent dressing. Olatunji Disu, the Commissioner of Police for the state, made this announcement during a live program organized by the Force Public Relations Department on a Port Harcourt radio station.

The arrest of these officers transpired during patrol operations conducted by the Monitoring Unit across the state. Commissioner Disu emphasized that the heads of the Divisions where the arrested policemen serve would also be held vicariously liable for the actions of their subordinates.

He stated, “The 13 arrested officers have been detained pending further investigation.” The move to address indecent dressing within the police force underscores the importance of maintaining a professional appearance and conduct.

In addition to the matter of indecent dressing, Commissioner Disu addressed the tr@gic k#lling of the late Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ahoada Police Division, SP Bako Angbashim. The DPO was reportedly k#lled by suspected Iceland cult members, led by Gift David, also known as 2Baba. Commissioner Disu assured the public that the case would not be overlooked, signaling the commitment of the police to address such cr#minal incidents and bring those responsible to justice.
