Dr. Sulaiman Bashir, the Executive Chairman of ADSPHDA, emphasized the significance of this vaccination initiative during a press briefing on Monday. The upcoming December 14-17 campaign marks the third round within the last four months, highlighting the state government’s commitment to ensuring comprehensive immunization against polio for all children.

Dr. Bashir informed reporters that previous rounds successfully vaccinated over 1.3 million children, and the forthcoming exercise aims to maintain this coverage. The ADSPHDA is unwavering in its dedication to prevention, leaving no stone unturned to achieve the government’s goal of reaching every child within the targeted age range.

To ensure the campaign’s success, 1,811 teams of officials will be deployed to the 225 wards across the 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state. Dr. Bashir emphasized that although Adamawa currently faces no issues with the polio virus, the state remains at risk due to interactions with neighboring states and communities. This vaccination campaign stands as a proactive measure to fortify the state against potential polio threats.
