Mr Ibu’s health update: Family debunks amputation rumors and requests prayers

The family of the renowned actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has taken a stand to dispel rumors suggesting that the actor underwent amputation on both legs. This clarification comes in response to recent statements made by Dr. Emeka Rollas, the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), who indicated that Mr Ibu had undergone a second leg amputation and was facing considerable health challenges.

In a statement posted on the actor’s official Instagram page, the family clarified that the second amputation was performed on the same leg as the initial procedure. The decision was made because the first amputation did not fully address Mr Ibu’s health issues. Contrary to earlier reports, the family emphasized that diabetes is not a factor in the actor’s health concerns. Instead, Mr Ibu has been grappling with persistent blood clotting in his leg, related to diseased blood vessels, and other health issues that jeopardize his life, necessitating the need for the amputation.
