The committee’s mandate includes investigating the total revenue collected by local government councils and scrutinizing the expenditure of these funds. Governor Kefas emphasizes the need to identify local councils that have outsourced revenue collection, ensuring compliance with existing laws. In cases of outsourcing, the committee is tasked with determining if the process aligns with legal frameworks and recommending suitable actions against non-compliant councils.
The committee is expected to deliver its findings and recommendations within the next 14 days, providing insights that will contribute to the state’s revenue optimization efforts.
