Peruzzi acknowledges 2Baba’s mentorship: “I copy him a lot”

Nigerian artist Peruzzi, born Tobechukwu Victor Okoh, has openly expressed his admiration for the legendary musician, 2Baba (Innocent Ujah Idibia), referring to him as his mentor. In a recent episode of the Zero Conditions podcast on Pop Central, Peruzzi revealed the significant influence 2Baba has had on his musical journey, admitting to frequently borrowing lyrics and musical styles.

During the podcast, Peruzzi shared, “2Baba is my daddy [mentor]. I copy from him a lot. If you listened to ‘Amaka,’ you’d notice I copied his verse; I just changed some things on it. Till now, I still copy from him. I have to say the truth.”

Additionally, Peruzzi emphasized his versatility as an artist, claiming to be “special” because of his ability to excel in various aspects of music. He asserted, “I can do everything when it comes to music. You’ve met every artist; they know only some things, they don’t know everything. That’s why I am special.”
