Nasarawa State Police enforce ban on fireworks and knockouts during yuletide season

In anticipation of the Yuletide season, the Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, has issued a ban on the sale and unauthorized use of fireworks, including knockouts, within the state. The ban, aimed at ensuring public safety, was communicated through a statement released by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel.

Highlighting the risks associated with the sale and unauthorized use of fireworks, the PPRO emphasized the potential for criminal activities linked to these products. The statement underlined concerns about criminal elements exploiting fireworks to carry out unlawful acts, thereby heightening tension in the state. Additionally, the ban seeks to mitigate the high likelihood of injuries and fire outbreaks associated with the use of fireworks.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, issued a stern warning to dealers and users of knockouts, urging immediate compliance with the ban. The statement also called upon parents and guardians to discourage their children and wards from purchasing and igniting fireworks. Non-compliance with the ban will result in facing the full consequences of the law, as enforced by the law enforcement authorities in Nasarawa State.
