Nigeria celebrates jailbreak-free year in 2023, says NCoS

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) proudly announced that the country experienced zero jailbreaks and attacks in all 253 custodial centres throughout the year 2023. ACC Abubakar Umar, the spokesperson for NCoS, credited this achievement to the government’s comprehensive measures in strengthening facility security against internal and external threats. With previous years marred by violent jailbreak incidents, the NCoS implemented strategies, including increased personnel and technology for intelligence gathering.
