This transfer took place just a single season after Onana joined Inter Milan as a free agent from Ajax. The Italian club sold him for a base price of €51 million (£43.8 million). In the meantime, Inter Milan has acquired Yan Sommer as his replacement.
When asked about the possibility of re-signing Onana, Marotta stated, “I can’t predict the future, but in football, anything can happen. For sure, it was a great chapter for Onana and for us. It was also a successful deal to sign him for free and sell for that money.”
Since his move to Manchester United during the summer, Onana has played 11 matches and conceded 19 goals. However, the team currently finds itself in 10th place in the league standings.
