Arteta provides injury updates on Partey and Tomiyasu ahead of West Ham clash

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, has addressed the status of Thomas Partey and Takehiro Tomiyasu concerning their availability for the upcoming Premier League match against West Ham on Thursday.

In his conversation with reporters today, Arteta conveyed that both players would not be part of the squad for the London Derby. Despite speculations on social media suggesting Partey’s return to training and a potential appearance since the victory over Manchester City on October 8, Arteta clarified their absence from the upcoming fixture.

The uncertainty looms over whether either Partey or Tomiyasu will feature for Arsenal before heading away on international duty next month. Partey is expected to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana, while Tomiyasu is set to join Japan for the Asian Cup.

Arteta stated, “We’re not going to have those two (Partey and Tomiyasu), then we have the suspension of Kai [Havertz]. So I think we’re gonna have five out, but we have lots of other players willing to play.” Despite the absence of key players, Arteta remains optimistic about the squad’s depth and the readiness of other players to step up for the team.
