NSCDC elevates Jigawa spokesperson and 13 others in recent promotions

In a significant development, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has sanctioned the advancement of CSC Adamu Shehu, the Public Relations Officer of the Jigawa Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), alongside 13 other distinguished senior officers. The promotions, approved for the ranks of Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC) and Assistant Commandant of Corps (ACC), were disclosed by Shehu in a statement released on Saturday in Dutse.

The Zonal Command Headquarters, Zone ‘N’ Kano, played host to the ceremonial decoration of these officers with their new ranks on Friday. Among them, nine officers ascended from the rank of Assistant Commandants of Corps (ACC) to Deputy Commandants of Corps (DCC), while six officers progressed from Chief Superintendents of Corps (CSC) to Assistant Commandants of Corps (ACC).

Noteworthy among the newly promoted DCC officers were the Head of Administration and three Area Commanders, while the ACC rank saw the inclusion of the Command’s Public Relations Officer and five others. The decoration ceremony was officiated by the Zonal Commander, ACG (Prof.) Iliya Sarki, who was assisted by the Jigawa Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Danjuma Muhammed, and his Kano State counterpart, Muhammad Lawal.

During the event, Shehu highlighted that the Zonal Commander, ACG (Prof.) Iliya Sarki, emphasized the increased responsibility that accompanies the new ranks. Sarki urged the officers to reciprocate the honor by redoubling their efforts in safeguarding lives, protecting property, and ensuring the security of critical national assets and infrastructure.

The Zonal Commander’s address conveyed a sense of encouragement, as he remarked, “New ranks mean new commitment, dedication, and added responsibility; as such, you must strive hard to ensure you give your best in uplifting the corps to a greater height. And I believe your promotion is a result of your dedication, resilience, as well as commitment to duty.”

Additionally, Sarki extended commendation to the Commandant General of the Corps, Dr. Ahmed Audi, applauding him for keeping his promise to enhance personnel welfare. This recent development not only signifies individual accomplishments but also underscores the collective commitment of the NSCDC to excellence in their crucial role of protecting the nation.
