Governor Bago extends condolences to President Tinubu on Akeredolu’s passing

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago, expressed heartfelt condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a condolence visit in Lagos, mourning the passing of Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu. Governor Bago, acknowledging the late governor as a dedicated politician, highlighted Akeredolu’s significant contributions to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and commended his determination to lead Ondo State effectively.

Addressing questions from journalists after the visit, Governor Bago shared insights into his administration’s agricultural initiatives. He revealed plans to prepare over one million hectares of land for farming, focusing on rice, sesame, cotton, and maize cultivation to meet the heightened demand from poultry farmers.

Reflecting on the recent crisis in Plateau, Governor Bago termed it unfortunate and announced the North Central Governors Forum’s intention to visit their Plateau State counterpart to offer condolences. Emphasizing the importance of strategic discussions on such matters, he advocated for open dialogue to address issues and ensure the voices of the people are heard.

Accompanying Governor Bago on the visit were notable stakeholders from the state, including former Minister of Sport Sani Ndanusa, immediate past Deputy Governor Ahmed Ketso, Sen. Mustapha Sani, House of Representatives member for Bida/Gbako/Katcha federal constituency Saidu Musa Abdul, and Lado Suleja, among others.
