Security forces conduct successful operations against terrorist camps in Imo and Anambra

Troops from Operation Udoka II conducted successful clearance operations against terrorist camps in Imo and Anambra states on Saturday. During these operations, the troops made significant progress in the fight against terrorism.

In Imo State, the clearance operations took place in Lilu community and the Orsumoghu Forest in Orsu Local Government Area. The troops not only arrested a suspected terrorist but also recovered materials used in making Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), motorcycles, stored food, and other logistical items from these camps.

The clearance operations in Anambra were held in Ihiala Local Government Area, further disrupting the activities of terrorists in the region.

Throughout these operations, the troops encountered various obstacles, including the need to detonate IEDs. The terrorists they engaged with were forced to flee into nearby bushes with gunshot wounds due to the superior firepower of the troops. Several camps and shrines used by the terrorists were also destroyed.

The Nigerian Army urges law-abiding citizens in the Southeast region to continue providing timely, credible, and reliable information to security agencies, particularly to Operation Udoka II. This information can be crucial in the apprehension of those who managed to escape with gunshot wounds during the operations.
