In Jigawa State, the police have apprehended a 17-year-old boy, Abdulmuminu Tasiu, on charges of defrauding a Point of Sale (POS) vendor of N900,000 in Maigatari Local Government.

DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the command’s spokesman, confirmed the arrest in a statement provided to SKIWORD.

The incident occurred on Friday when Aminu Mustafa, a 38-year-old POS vendor, reported that an unknown individual visited his shop to withdraw money. After handing over the POS machine for PIN input, the customer allegedly used it fraudulently, transferring the sum of N900,000 into his account.

 

Upon receiving the information, police on patrol were alerted, leading to the arrest of 17-year-old Abdulmuminu Tasi’u of Adakawa quarters, Dala LGA, Kano State. The suspect admitted to the offense during interrogation.

 

The police spokesman mentioned that after completing the investigation, the suspect would be taken to court for legal proceedings.
