Supreme Court Verdict: Governor Otti pledges to focus on rebuilding Abia

Following the Supreme Court’s affirmation of his victory in the 2023 general elections, Governor Alex Otti has expressed his commitment to settling down and focusing on the task of rebuilding Abia State without any distractions.

Governor Otti made this declaration during a Thanksgiving Service held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA), Eastern Union Conference Headquarters in Abayi Umueze, Osisioma local government area (LGA) on Saturday.

“Now that the distractions are over, now that the storm is over, I will settle down and rebuild Abia,” Otti pledged, emphasizing his determination to lead the state towards progress.

Having contested elections three times, Otti shared that the motivation behind his persistence was the sense of shame faced when confronted about the state’s condition. He acknowledged the support of the people and thanked the Supreme Court for confirming his victory.

During the service, Otti expressed gratitude to the church for the honor bestowed upon him and encouraged the community to maintain faith in the power of God to accomplish great things.

The President of the West/Central African Division of the SDA Church, Dr. Robert Osei-Bonsu, also urged the church to remain united to achieve its purpose.
