Super Eagles aim to break friendly winless streak against Mozambique

The Super Eagles are eager to put an end to their five-year-long winless streak in friendly games when they face the Mambas of Mozambique at the Estádio Municipal de Albufeira today.

The Nigerian national team, three-time African champions, has experienced a series of uninspiring friendly results with seven draws and eight losses in the past five years. In their most recent friendly match, they were held to a 2-2 draw by the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia.

However, there is a silver lining for the Super Eagles as they have historically performed well against Mozambique, remaining unbeaten in their four previous meetings with three victories and a draw.

Mozambique, on the other hand, comes into this match following a 1-1 draw with the Palancas Negras of Angola in their last outing.

The Super Eagles will have to make do without the services of Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho in this encounter. Osimhen suffered a hamstring injury during the game against Saudi Arabia, while Iheanacho has been excused from the camp to attend to a personal matter.
