Tragedy Strikes as Multiple Auto Collision Claims Three Lives and Injures Two in Kwara State

In a devastating incident along the Olooru-Okoolowo highway in Kwara State on Monday, a fatal multiple auto crash resulted in the loss of three lives and left two individuals injured. The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kwara State, Stephen Dawulung, confirmed the tragic event, indicating that the crash occurred around 15:15 pm and led to a destructive inferno, consuming the involved vehicles and a motorcycle.

Upon receiving the report, FRSC rescue operatives swiftly responded to the scene, collaborating with the Nigeria Police Force and Federal Fire Service to rescue passengers before the ignited fire could intensify.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a vehicle transporting feeds to Lagos collided with an oncoming trailer carrying brewery products while attempting to overtake another vehicle. Simultaneously, a tanker loaded with petroleum products, closely tailing the brewery trailer, crashed into the collision, triggering the fire that escalated due to the presence of flammable materials.

The resulting inferno engulfed three vehicles and a motorcycle caught up in the crash. Out of the five people involved, two passengers on the motorcycle sustained injuries and were transported to the General Hospital in Ilorin. Unfortunately, the remaining three individuals lost their lives as they were consumed by the flames. The relatives of the deceased have claimed their bodies, marking a somber chapter in this tragic incident.
