In honor of the 2023 World Culture Day with the theme “Embracing Cultural Diversity: Building bridges for a Harmonious World,” the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, in collaboration with various stakeholders in Abuja, organized a roadshow to highlight Nigeria’s cultural diversity.

The World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development underscores the importance of intercultural dialogue in achieving peace and sustainable development while celebrating the world’s cultural richness.

Mrs. Ugochi Nwosu, the Director of Entertainment and Creative Services at the Ministry, emphasized the significance of marking the 2023 World Culture Day for diversity and development, raising awareness of culture’s role in national development.

“We are also creating awareness of the potential of the Nigerian culture and creative economy for nation-building,” she stated. “This sector is one that will enhance and develop our economy and create jobs for our teeming population. As you can see, the youths are here, and everybody is here to showcase our diversity. We are showcasing the manifestation of our cultural diversity, and that is the strength of Nigeria.”

Miss Gold Ugoji of Black Bones Theatre Company highlighted the need for Nigerians to embrace cultural diversity as a means to unite and strengthen the nation. She saw the roadshow as an opportunity to celebrate Nigeria’s culture and heritage.

Emmanuel Danladi emphasized that this roadshow would inform people about Nigeria’s rich cultural diversity and promote unity within the country.

Martha Patrick expressed her excitement and the hope that such events would bring unity to Nigerians, regardless of their cultural differences, while also emphasizing the economic potential of culture.

The roadshow aimed to unite Nigerians through cultural celebration and appreciation, fostering national unity and economic opportunities in the process.
