Dele Momodu explains why he’s not backing the APC

Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation magazine, has clarified his reasons for refraining from supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC). This comes after a social media dispute with APC supporters over his decision not to back the government of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Momodu, a former presidential aspirant and a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), recently criticized APC supporters for their obsession with an interview in which he mentioned receiving 500 pounds from Tinubu in London during his years in exile. He made it clear that this gift was not intended to make him a perpetual supporter and that he had repaid it many times over.

In a post on X, he emphasized that he would support a government that appeared reasonable and sympathetic to the citizens of Nigeria. While he considered supporting the APC in 2015, he observed early warning signs that President Buhari’s leadership was leading the country in an undesirable direction. In his view, APC has already deviated from its path in less than six months.
