On Friday, Tunde Gesinde expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Nigerian Union of Journalists, particularly the Student Journalists (Kwara State Chapter), following the passing of Hajia Rafat Salami, the recently elected Treasurer of the International Press Institute (IPI).

According to BSGISTNEWS, Hajia Salami had recently been elected Treasurer of the Nigerian chapter of the International Press Institute, alongside other prominent journalists.
Her passing has left colleagues, friends, mentees, and associates in shock, with tributes pouring in to honor her legacy. She is survived by her 20-year-old autistic son, Ahmed Salami.
