Primate Ayodele calls for arrest of Ahmed Gumi over comments on Wike

Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has urged President Bola Tinubu to order the arrest of Islamic cleric Ahmed Gumi due to his statements regarding Christians and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Gumi had referred to Wike as a satanic individual and expressed a lack of trust in Christians regarding the country’s security. He further called for the immediate removal of Wike from his position as FCT Minister, advocating for a Muslim to assume the role.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Primate Ayodele cautioned Gumi to refrain from discussing Christians and to allow Wike to carry out his responsibilities. He emphasized that the actions of the minister would impact all citizens in the country, not just Muslims.

Primate Ayodele’s statement read, “Leave Wike alone and let him do his job; stop mistreating Christians. If the minister fails to act appropriately, it has nothing to do with Christianity. Tinubu should be cautious when dealing with individuals like Gumi, and he should consider having him arrested and prosecuted.”
