The Nigeria Army’s 33 Brigade has reported a successful operation in which they neutralized an armed bandit during an ambush in Bura, Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State on October 20, 2023. Acting on actionable intelligence, the troops strategically laid an ambush for the bandits, engaging them in a firefight. The result of the operation was the elimination of one bandit, while others fled the scene with gunshot wounds, leaving behind traces of blood. In addition to this, the troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, 14 live rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, a mobile phone, and a fetish amulet from the neutralized bandit. The troops continue their operations in the area, tracking the fleeing bandits.
In a separate operation on the same day, the vigilant troops acted on a report of a stolen Toyota Corolla car with registration number ABJ 343 KL. The troops established a snap checkpoint on the Bauchi-Jos Highway in response to the report and successfully intercepted the carjackers.
Upon spotting the troops, the criminals attempted to escape, resulting in damage to the stolen vehicle. However, the troops swiftly apprehended the criminals. The suspects, along with the stolen vehicle, were handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further legal action.
