The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Olukayode Egbetokun, visited the Adamawa State Police Command headquarters on Tuesday to address the aftermath of a de@dly invasion by soldiers that resulted in the k#lling of Inspector Daniel Jacob on November 21.

Expressing strong condemnation for the attack, the IGP likened the soldiers’ actions to those of Boko Haram terrorists. Egbetokun assured that the issue would be thoroughly addressed, emphasizing that such incidents would not be tolerated in the future.
During his visit, Egbetokun stated, “It was an unfortunate incident which should never have happened. I believe this is going to be the last time it will happen in Nigeria. These people came like bandits and carried out the attacks on our facility in a manner similar to an invasion by Boko Haram terrorists.”
Inspector Jacob Daniel, on duty at the quarter guard, was tragically k#lled during the invasion by soldiers. The IGP described the attack as unwarranted and barbaric, emphasizing the commitment and dedication to duty that Inspector Daniel demonstrated.

After observing a minute of silence to honor the fallen officer, Egbetokun urged officers not to let the incident diminish their morale.
Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, also commented on the situation, stating, “The command, in particular, and the state in general, would have been in a state of total calm if not for the unfortunate incident that occurred on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.”
