Villagers have reportedly started abandoning their ancestral homes following the departure of security personnel stationed in the area without prior notice. The absence of security forces has left the community vulnerable to the threat of bandit attacks.
A source revealed that, “As soon as the security personnel left, the bandits invaded the community, going from house to house to collect people’s phones and money without facing any challenges.” Consequently, a sense of confusion and fear has gripped the locals.
Many villagers have deserted their houses, leaving behind their crops and belongings. Ishaq Usman Kasai, Chairman of Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), confirmed the incident and urgently appealed to the government, especially the military authorities, to redeploy personnel promptly to protect the community from the looming danger of bandit attacks.
