Delta State NSCDC ensures yuletide safety with deployment of 1,100 personnel

In anticipation of a smooth yuletide season, the Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has strategically deployed over 1,100 personnel across the state. Commandant Suleiman Jimoh shared insights into this proactive measure, emphasizing its role in securing the state throughout the festive period.

Under his leadership, the command has mobilized personnel from diverse units, including Tactical Units, Anti-Vandal, Agro Rangers, Mines and Steel, Anti-Human Trafficking, Disaster Management Teams, and Counter-Terrorism Team. These forces will collaborate with the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) to safeguard worship centers, recreational areas, marketplaces, malls, the second Niger Bridge, and all critical infrastructures.

To ensure comprehensive security coverage, the NSCDC has strengthened its inter-agency collaboration by forming joint task force teams. Commandant Suleiman emphasized that this deployment aligns with the state command’s commitment to fostering a peaceful environment during the expected surge in economic activities and potential social challenges.

Highlighting the topmost priority of protecting lives and critical national assets and infrastructures (CNAI), Commandant Suleiman urged the civil populace to actively contribute by providing actionable and timely information. He stressed that security is a collective duty, with citizens being integral stakeholders in the state’s security architecture.
