Soludo extends gratitude to military for restoring peace in Anambra

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, expressed appreciation to the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, for the role of the Nigerian Army in liberating eight local government areas in the state from criminal elements commonly referred to as unknown gunmen. During the visit at the Anambra Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia, Soludo praised the armed forces and other security agencies for their efforts in reclaiming areas previously under the control of criminals.

Governor Soludo emphasized the success achieved in securing communities like Ukpor, highlighting the collaborative approach between the government and those seeking rehabilitation. He commended the military for bridging the gap between the armed forces and the civilian population, describing the visit as a means to reveal the softer side of the military and emphasize their connection with the people.

Requesting further support, Soludo urged the deployment of military personnel and resources to enhance precision targeting, facilitating the elimination of criminal hideouts. He expressed gratitude to various security agencies, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, DSS, NSCDC, and local vigilante groups for their significant contributions to restoring peace and security in the state.

Gen. Christopher Musa acknowledged the improved security situation in Anambra and assured Governor Soludo of the continued commitment of the Nigerian Armed Forces to securing the state. Emphasizing the importance of collaboration with the people, Gen. Musa highlighted the strengthened partnership between the Anambra State government and the military in promoting peace and sustainable development in the region.
