Governor Alia Urges Care for Veterans During Armed Forces Remembrance Day Service

During the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Interdenominational service organized by the Benue State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in collaboration with the state government, Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia emphasized the importance of ensuring the well-being of those who served in Nigeria’s armed forces.

Governor Alia stressed that taking care of the needs of those who risked their lives in service is crucial for them to overcome the challenges they faced while protecting the nation. He called for prayers for the families of deceased officers, acknowledging their bravery and sacrifices in maintaining the safety of citizens.

The governor highlighted the significance of Armed Forces Remembrance Day as a day to honor the services and unwavering commitment of the Armed Forces to the country’s security. He urged people to use the occasion to promote peace within the state and the nation as a tribute to the fallen heroes.

In their remarks, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Wilfred Anagbe, and Archbishop of All Nations Evangelism Ministry, Yiman Orkwagh, emphasized the special place the Nigerian Armed Forces Remembrance Day holds in the hearts of Nigerians. They underlined its role in reminding people of the selfless sacrifices made by the armed forces.
