Gasland Nigeria Limited Denies Responsibility for Ibadan Explosion

Gasland Nigeria Ltd., the management of the gas company, has vehemently denied any involvement in the explosion that occurred in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Tuesday evening. In an official statement released to the press, the company asserted that its facility remains secure and operational.

The statement emphasized the active cooperation of Gasland Nigeria Ltd. with emergency responders and local authorities to determine the cause of the incident and ensure the safety of those in the vicinity. Expressing solidarity with the affected community, the company pledged its commitment to providing support during this challenging time.

The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, had earlier attributed the explosion to illegal miners who stored Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in a house in Bodija. According to the governor, the tragic incident resulted in the loss of two lives and left 77 individuals injured.
