Abia State Community alerts Government to suspected bomb, calls for continued security measures

The Ala Imenyi autonomous community in Lomara, Umunnochi Local Government Area of Abia State, has raised concerns by reporting the discovery of a suspicious object believed to be a bomb. The community members made this report during their visit to Hon. Mathias Umeh, the representative for the Umunnochi constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly over the weekend.

Addressing the issue through their traditional ruler, HRH Eze Luke Uchechukwu, President General John Ejiofor, and other community leaders, the purpose of the visit was to inform the state government about the bomb scare. The Ala Imenyi community expressed gratitude to Governor Alex Otti’s new administration for implementing effective security strategies, which have contributed to bringing the situation under control. They called for the continuous effort in the fight against banditry.

Having witnessed various forms of insecurity in their lands over the past years, the community leaders appealed to the state government for additional developmental projects in their area. In response, Umeh assured the community that he would communicate their report to the Abia State Government.

Umeh also extended appreciation to Governor Alex Otti for addressing the previous security challenges in Umunnochi, assuring the community that efforts would be sustained to prevent kidnappings, armed robbery, and other criminal activities in any part of Umunnochi.
