Maureen Chinaka, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), reiterated this message during a radio sensitization program, responding to recent reports of jungle justice incidents in various areas of the state. The focal point of concern was the tragic ly#ching of Ikechi Kalu, accused of stealing a motorcycle in one of the clans of Arochukwu LGA.

Kalu, a father of one, was reportedly apprehended by youths who took matters into their own hands, subjecting him to a “conviction” and ultimately setting him ablaze with tires. A disturbing video circulating on the internet captured the brutal beating and subsequent immolation of the victim.

Chinaka urged Abia residents to prioritize reporting suspected criminals or individuals allegedly violating laws, allowing the police to handle the matters within the bounds of legal procedures. She disclosed that individuals involved in jungle justice incidents have already been arrested, with assurances that more arrests will follow.
